2. Program
Learn to successfully ask the right questions
This Leading with Questions program is conducted in one day.
The program includes the following topics
Types of questions and when to use them successfully
Humble Inquiry
Upper and lower flow
Reflective capacity
Personal Leadership
Action-oriented learning (practicing and learning at the same
time)
Real listening
Learning and working together
The Leading with Questions program introduces you to the basic
principles of action-oriented learning, the common thread running
through all WIAL Netherlands programs. It ensures that as a team
you really listen to each other, learn to understand the context,
have the real conversation and work on reflective capacity.
Direct return for you
During Leading with Questions you develop the awareness and skills
of how you are in the conversation and how that comes across to
another person.
The first new phase for you is that you hear when you get a closed question and/or a question with an opinion in it or ask it yourself. Your next question does not yet stick to the other person's answer because in your mind you are still fully engaged in formulating an open question. You begin to invite others to make it an open-ended question. It is difficult to reformulate the question into a question. You begin to correct yourself.
The next new phase is that you ask open diagnostic questions, ask through on the other person's answer, use check questions to make sure you've understood correctly and let the other person know you're listening, your questions are no longer just in the upper stream but you also ask undercurrent questions, you ask convergent and divergent questions, use silences and feel that you're debating less and engaging more in the dialogue from which you're able to extract more new information. During the conversation, the connection with the other person increases.
